How can aerators treat wastewater

Wastewater is water contains impurities such as debris, sediment, various chemicals, or different types of sewage that are undesirable and unusable. Wastewater might have unpleasant color or bad smells that causes pollution if there is no proper way of manage it.

Unavoidably, these wastewater come variety places such as communities, houses, condominiums, hotels, hospitals and industrial factories.  Nowadays, people are focusing on environmental protection and have begun to enforce laws for households and factories to discharge wastewater in proper way. It is necessary to treat the wastewater before released back to nature.

Why do we need to treat wastewater?

Today, Society raised more awareness about environment in community and in factory which wastewater treatment is a process of natural preservation, maintaining water resources and making water reusable.

What is the format of wastewater treatment using aerators?

Wastewater treatment by aeration is a wastewater treatment system that dissolve oxygen into the water by using an aerator to increase the amount of oxygen sufficiently to help microorganism survive. Microorganism will digest organic matter in wastewater faster and improves efficiency in reducing impurities of waste water.

Working principle of wastewater treatment system by using aerator

Typically, wastewater treatment by using an aerator will design a pond with a depth of about 2-6 meters and a period of time for water storage of about 3-10 days in order to separate between hard residue and grey water.

Then aerator will blow air into grey water to increase dissolved oxygen for microorganism. Microorganism will digest organic waste in grey water under the certain amount of time. Once water condition is adjusted, treated water will be released to city sewage.

Aerator types available

There are 2 types which are surface and submersible. Each has advantage and disadvantage over each other.

Surface aerator includes air pump and blower which provide high pressure to release air into designed depth of water. It is easy to install and PM (preventive maintenance). However, it create noise and requires space, pipeline and more equipment in installation.

On the other hand, submersible aerators are disc type aerator and submersible ejector. Because it submerges, there is no noise or require any space. Yet, it will be harder in maintenance.

To sum up, In this Article “How aerators treat wastewater” have a method of dissolved oxygen into the water by using an aerator to increase the amount of oxygen sufficiently to help microorganism survive, and each aerator also has different working principle depends on how using.
